Alright, I decided to shorten my E-Series, because the weld kept brakeing on the mid-pipe, so I thought to my self, "Since its junk anyways, let me have some fun and attemp to make it a shorty!"

Well, I am have a whole lot of fun making it, but I have 2 questions I want to ask before I go any further.

1) Do I have to change the jetting, because it is shorter? I have a:
K&N
"No air box lid"
Ofcourse the shortend e-series (slip-on)

2) How much louder is it going to be?

Thank you! Once I get it all finished, I will post pictures on a new thread! I cant wait! I am having a blast making it!!!

well one of the bolts on the frame were snapped and i didnt care about a P.O.S old exhaust when i had a new one sitting next to me , id cut it down to experiment cuz alot of people said it was going to be obnociously loud which it wasnt i did notice the were a nice change in weight reduction, but with the e sereis u have to make sure u cut it straight or ure discks will be out of whack

yeah, he does.

According to him, it added a little power, and wasnt much louder. But, he also has a 440. So it may be different.

I should take the stocker and make a custom shorty:D

yea it definlty looks alot better and should centralize the weight more on the main bracket to hopefully mot break as easy

Yeah it shouldn't be too loud. I did it because I wanted more top- end power and on my big bore engine, thats what it did. For you it might enhance the power a little but I wouldn't get to excited about it. I'd say maybe from 1-100% about 3% for you.

Alright, thanks XXX. I didn't really do it for looks nor preformance, I did it because I was bored, and I wanted to keep my e-series. So, I tried to loose some weight. But you think I will notice a little difference?

What about jetting? Would I have to change it? Right now I am running a 158main/42poilet for the mods I have listed above. I am going to soon change it to a 155 for the summer.

No you shouldn't have to re-jet.
