Baby wipes are great for the following:
Wiping your butt.
quick wipe downs since we will not have showers for a while
good for wiping down weapons when on the move

I have 40 guys and change, not really alowed to say how many. Afew of us are talking about starting a riding club when we get home . Could anybody possibly send me a link on how to start an official one? Don't really have time to research it. Anyway, When we get home we are getting together (bunch of us from here) and going to start an annual ride on one of my dudes land (1000 acres approx. in potter co.) we are calling it "Thunder on the Mountain" We are looking at family oriented. with barbeques and fishing, Not forgeting RIDING,RIDING,RIDING. Plus some drag racing. Granted everything goes ok.

Because after 7 days living in a Stryker you look like this. We weren't really living in it since we were dismounted the whole freaking time, lol. This was taken the morning of Jan 10th, 30 degrees and snowing in Iraq, 8 hrs after my first son was born.

Those are a lot of fun to shoot. My Bro's a sniper in the 1 ID, and we were at the same base here in Iraq for a few months so I got to shoot one pretty much when ever I wanted, but only on the bases 300 meter sniper range. We went out once and shot in the middle of no where and we were smashing water bottles at 500 meters. Those things kick like a mule, but a great way to spend 7k, lol.

I encourage everyone to gather a box of goodies to send over there. its cheap using the us mail, and they sure do appreciate things from home.

baby wipes (unscented, beef jerky, hard candy, magazines etc) its the least you can do! i know the goodies get spread around or used as barter (did when i had anything to do with it..lol)

Pap's right. I just returned home 2 weeks ago, but while I was in Iraq I was the guy who received a ton of packages from people back home. It seemed that I would get at least a package a day, and sometimes way more around the holidays. I would pass everything out to the soldiers in my unit and the brigade we supported. It's amazing how little things can bring joy to some of the soldiers. Especially those who do not receive packages from home that often, or ever. With the new boxes the USPS has just for shipping things to soldiers it's cheaper than ever to send stuff. If you need someone to send stuff to just go to soldiers angels or any adoption website. The troops will thank you.

hey Pap,
Been awhile again! I'm finally backon main camp waiting for next job. (being a fighter is good and sucks at the same time) Been a rough go so far, I took 30% Purple Hearts in my platoon. (abeer or two is lookin mighty good right now!)Thought I'm past due to send some pics. You said about dusting some dudes. well this weapon (open sight) has done some damage around here. I have 3 but, this is mine.

Pappy
07-27-2008, 04:04 PM
good to hear from you again! hope everyone is remaining as safe as can be;)

the M14 is a mighty fine weapon, one of my favorites. i have a few of them myself. i actually prefer it open sighted over having a scope mounted, its drop dead accurate, just a bit on the heavy side.

keep the pics coming when you can, and we will start assembling another package for you guys...pm me the address again if you could along with updating anything you fellers want or need.
