Retorque studs. Help!

I need to retorque my studs on my 400ex. Anyone know what to torque them to? Also in what sequence/order?

i think the book says 30ftlbs but i keeps blowing head gaskets so i went to 40ftlbs and so far so good

I found out its 33. But I still need the order.

Your torque is correct...tighten them in a criss-cross pattern, but step the torque up progressively...about 2 or 3 times times til final lbs of torque is achieved. Hope that answers your question.
