yes you will see a decent increase in power, make sure you have a good exhaust, and id recomend a 400ex carb,

no you cant do your own 330 kit, cuse the cylinder needs bored so the sleeve will fit, and then the sleeve needs bored so the piston will fit, you need a machine shop,

now, when it comes to cams, it all depends on which one you get, if you get a billet cam, such as hot cams, its just a drop in cam so no addittional parts are needed,

if you go with a hard weld cam such as web cams, you need heavy duty vavle springs, which are about 130 bucks, and hard weld rockers, which go any where from 45-65 a piece, the 300ex has 2

FST sells a very nice 330 kit for 295 plus shipping,
just remember you dont want to go past 11:1 compression, cuse then youll need race fuel

I just installed a 330 from FST. Sell your 300 and get a 400. You will thank me.

I wouldnt be so sure about that.If you like the handling of the 300 and want a bit more performance,go for it.I have a 400ex with just a slip on and my 385 with a cam,tc exhaust, fcr carb and ported head "feels"faster than my 400ex.The 400 may pull slightly harder up top because the 385 is restricted somewhat at upper rpms because of the smallish head but its a killer low to mid motor, especially for the hills:D
