Opinions on Maxxis IRazr

Hello everyone! New to the board and this is my first thread. I must start by saying that this is a very helpful and informative site. I have a 2005 Predator TLD with stock tires. My rears are showing wear and it is time for something new. I want to stick with 20x11-9 size. I generally ride trails with light mx track use. I am looking at the Maxxis IRazr, but am open to other options. What are your opinions, good or bad?

iRazr's are great tires my cousin has a set on his 400ex and he loves them they hook up great the only dislike he has is that they are a softer compund so the wear kinda quick

i razrs hook great in the mud from what ive heard. Im prob going to buy a set here soon.

I run razr 2's and am v ery pleased w/ them. They hold up great, never had a flat/hole, great wear.

i would look into the regular razr tires. Most are 4 plys or even 6, and will give you great hook for the track and trail alike!

i was wondering about these tires to, how are they with sliding, are they predictable?

i have/ am running these tires...they hook up great, are easy to slide and very predictable....the only drawback is that they wear fast...i have been running mine for nearly 2 years now, with about 40-50 hours on them. they will need replaced by mid summer if not sooner. i would get these tires again with out thinking twice, but my next tires will be something that i can get more wear out of...

Ive had my regular razrs for over a year now and they still have 75-80 % left. I mostly ride hard pack and hit the mx track a couple of times.

would 6 ply tires wear slower than 4 ply? Or is the ply only on the tire without the nobs?

the knobs are not where the "ply" is at. it is only in the body of the tire. also, the ply has nothing to do with wear, that is determined by a combination of softness of the compound and the softness of the terrain it is used on. there are other factors to wear as well.

I believe the ply is how many layers of rubber are on the walls and treadboard but not the actual tread. I have 6 plyys and i have no idea how they got them on, i couldn't bend the bead at all, it's like almost an inch thick. If weight's a problem, i wouldn't go with 6ply. Mine are 23 pounds per tire but it also has 1" deep tread pucks.

23LBS per tire on what brand, model, and size? that seems really heavy

haha, they're on a 1996 honda 300ex sport kind, they're 22x10x9 and they're swamp lites not too sure of the brand though. right now i have some 25x13x10 i forget the brand but they're vampires. Those are alot heavier. the pic's of the vampires because i couldnt find the swamp lites. i also have 26x12x12 itp mud lites, 18x9x8 that basically look like they came off a tiny lawnn mower, studded 20x11x9 turf tamers, front maxxis razrs, fronts that fit the rear that are 21x7x10, and itp holeshots for front, and 27x14x12 blackwaters, and maybe more... Idk, its been a while, the blackwaters and itp mud lites are the only ones OFF rims haha. all for 1 4 wheeler.

^ that would explain why they are so heavy! those tires are huge! Maxxis Razr 4ply 20x11x9 tire weigh only 15.4LBS and 6 ply weigh 16.6LBS.

The ones in the pic were the 25's which are vampires. But the 23pound ones are smaller, 22x10x9 6 ply. I took a tire count and i have 22 lol. I wanna get some off a honda civic and put spinners on lol. The hub caps tho, not the $4000 real ones. Found out they would fit today!! All ford focus, civic, toyota ones will fit 300 and 400ex's.

I was also wondering about the Irazr's. I'm trying to figure between them or Holeshot HD's. I ride everything from trails, pits and mud. I'm also not too concerned about wear, I don't ride enough that I'll be replacing them once a year. My xcr's are probably 5 years old and still have tread, they're actually starting to dry out! Anyway, what do you guys think about those 2 tires?

please don't do that with the spinners...those are gay as all hell on cars...they are even worse on quads...quads go in the woods, not in the hoods homie

those tires have to rob you of soooo much power...if you want that kind of tread, i have a set of maxxis surr trak mounted on douglass .190 rims i would sell you...these tires hook up in mud and would save you so much power robbing weight

quads will sometimes end up in the hood because they are stolen lol

I have I razrs they are the best mud tire I Have used they have unbelievable traction. Even after they wear down they still hook up better than other tires. They may wear faster but I really think it is about the same it is just more noticable becuase there is so much space between lugs. Razr 2s are so rock hard they ride like bricks and don't slide or get as good of traction.

Haha, yeah, i was jkin about the spinners lol. the big tires dont rob too much power, it makes it so i cant jump it but it still pulls great wheelies and pulls like nothing, a lil slower for speeding up though. How much did you want for those tires you have? thanks.
