Finished another plug with a hard, carbon black appearance. Seems I'm running a bit rich with bone-stock configuration.

Is it safe to assume that I can add a slip-on pipe to correct the rich condition without re-jetting?

Maybe I should run without an air box cover for awhile to see if my next plug doesn't foul as fast.

Please advise.

Maybe try the air box lid for a while but keep checking the pug, if you change the pipe you need to rejet.

Are you running the stock filter and pipe at the mo?

Believe it or not, the original filter looks new. This quad has about 20 hours of operation. Perhaps I could remove the choke.

Maybe the plug can be expected to foul every 6 months or so. This quad is less than one year old.

my 06 original plug lasted about a year or so. Only reason it fouled out was that I left the choke on all day while riding. Didn't know it until the next week it wouldn't start. Its all stock also. Make sure the choke lever is straight down, in the off position.
