I just installed a 450 carb on my g/fs 400ex and WOW .. I just had the carb sittin around from my bike so I installed it with a 52 pilot 185 main and 4th clip on the needle.. we used a billet aluminum ring for the air intake boot to fit alot better .. other than the carb ,throttle cable, jets and adapter you can have this mod done in about a hour or so.. well worth the time and money...

The 450R carb is a GREAT mod! I'm glad to hear it worked well for you!

Enjoy the new power.

FYI:
A NEW 450R carb can be purchased for around $175 from Service Honda!

I wouldn't buy an edelbrock carb, get the 42mm 450 R one, or if you can get a 40mm FCR, they are slick, and seem to run better and have a little better power.
