A.A.D.S. -
Accessory Aquisition Disorder Syndrome

once it gets ahold of you, you'll never be able to get rid of it,
Yes, ...mines a Terminal Condition. I'm just trying (to teach my wife) to live with it.

I added a few goodies this weekend...

Its nice to see one on, but take it off. The rack it is. Its a sport quad, not a utility. Don't get them mixed up. But I like your bumper!

How much did that rack cost? I'm kind of wanting one.

Brauap, sorry you dont like it, but I do, and it wont be on the bike 100% of the time. it only takes 3 bolts to remove it.
the funny thing is that I DO occaisionally use it like a utility quad while mountain trail riding, or on a hunting trip. I guess it would have really got your goat if you'd seen it with a rack on the front also Huh???? LOL!
btw- yes I'm going to get one for the front too :eek2:

XXX...
the rack msrp was $79.99, and the mount for a 400ex was $41.49, (plus any tax or shipping charges).
I got lucky and found it on clearance at a local parts house for a little less. ( I also got one for the wifes 250ex ).

thanks for the compliments guys, I will remove the racks for regular desert riding, but when I'm going to be in places that are'nt all about jumps/whoops,...
then the racks will be on including matching cargo bags/boxes.

I'll post some more pics when the front rack, headlight rock guards, air scoops, and 450r shocks get here and installed

LOL!
for me it's not about just going fast.

Desert riding = no racks, and lets throw some roost and catch some air...

Mountain trail riding = racks on, fishin pole, chair, tacklebox, cooler, maybe my rifle, maybe my pistol, maybe a hammock!

ya just gots ta do what makes ya happy!
ride hard, and keep the rubber side down... :D

I think it's pretty cool. If the 400 was the only quad i had I'd probably get one. Thats what the utes are for though. It'd make a nice spot to strap a chainsaw to, I have a lot of drunken trees on my property that have trouble staying vertical.

What brand of rack is that? I'm going to be needing one this summer for camping. My wife has decided to get a 250EX and we're going to use them to get up and away to the mountains. I won't use the racks except when camping. I've got the 'out and back' rack for trail riding since I can take a cooler and gas can with it. We're going to be getting a matching one for the wife's machine and then putting racks on them for trips. No reason you can't use these things for sport and carry some gear for trips!

Hey I was just taking a closer look at the rack. Is it touching the fenders? If it is, you might want to put something under that, or even if it is close, because over bumps and such, the fenders are going to wack that and may scratch it up or something. Just wanted to worn you. Also, if it just attaches to the grab bar, doesn't the dunk, dunk, dunk, dunk get annoying on the trail w/ the fenders whacking the fenders over every little bump? j/w

The rack(s), are made by Quadboss.
the rack itself is a universal rack for sport quads,
(Quadboss part # 56-8670)

The mounts for the racks are bike specific, and you can get mounts for most quads.

the mount for '99-'04 TRX400EX is
(Quadboss part# 56-8688)

the mount for '??-'04 TRX250EX is
(Quadboss part# 56-8676)

Quadboss makes many other bike/model specific mounts to install this rack on many different quads. here's a few more pics of them on both my 400ex, and my wifes 250ex

<a href="http://s111.photobucket.com/albums/n148/tri5ron/03%20400ex/?action=view&current=IMG_8209.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="http://i111.photobucket.com/albums/n148/tri5ron/03%20400ex/IMG_8209.jpg" border="0" alt="Photobucket"></a>

I am planning on getting front racks also, but Quadboss does not make a rack for the front on sport quads.
The only one I have found so far is made by CMP, which I will be ordering later this week.

Did a long search on the internet last night and found the quadboss stuff. Only issue is, will they fit on a 2007? I may need to make a phone call today. Also found a different mount kit for the 400ex pn 56-8667-T that's supposed to mount the universal rack on a 99-04. Not sure what's different about it.

I like the quadboss rack because it's a standard size for them. That means all their accessories for the rack will fit. Found a real neat baggage pack that fits on it and is waterproof and made for camping. I'll be exploring a mount to make it fit my 2007. Thanks!

I have not yet ridden the quads with these racks on, and dont know how much the fenders may "rattle" against them.

kind of hard to imagine it would be any more annoying than the tone of my Big Gun exhaust.

I do have one issue/concern that does bother me, and I have already contacted Customer Service at Quadboss to find out if it will be corrected.
The 2 racks are exactally the same part number, as I said before, the rack is a universal rack. Only the mounts are specific to the bike,
but if you'll notice the rack on my 400ex is made from 1" tubing, when I took the second rack out of the box, I found it to be made from 3/4" tubing.

the 1" tubing is much more solid and sturdy, the 3/4" is a little more wimpy and flexable.

I sent an email to Quadboss reguarding this, I explained that they are both the same rack with the same part numbers.

I have recieved a responce saying they were unaware of the changes, but would investigate it and get back to me. I will keep you posted when I hear back from them.

MAN!!!, I just LOVE the sound of the UPS truck pulling up to my front door.
It sounds just like Santa's Sleigh bells to me...
and here's the latest packages that the big brown sleigh just dropped off.
Yeah, The A.A.D.S. is definetly, and completly out of control!!!

I may even have to commit myself, the group sessions and weekly meetings, are not working very well :huh :eek2: :D

Hi glamiskid,
I was wondering if anyone was going to catch that.

The truth is, I was just kind of experimenting to see if it might be a place to mount a removable winch set-up.

I took the last set of pics before removing it. It is no longer on the bike.
