I am interested in buying a new quad, my riding style is very quick and aggresive. I cant decide between the kfx 450 or the ltr 450 what are the pros and the cons for these?

Everyone is gonna tell u that whatever quad they have is better so it would be better if u could find some friends that have those quads and test ride them and see which one u like better

from what ive read and the you tube videos ive seen im going for the ltr. i guess ill have to wait for the weekend to decide. id go for the yfz but no efi and im looking for an efi equiped bike

im not sure if i can wait 1 more year, plus i realy like the idea that if u buy the ltr all u have to do is add a chery-bomb nerfs uncork the exhaustand ur pretty much ready 2 race

yea that is pretty cool bc its basically race ready other then nerfs and killswitch

yea the LTR is a real nice bike. One of my friends won the semi-pro class on one with a cherry bomb and no baffle.

im not sure of the shocks thyve told me that theire pretty stiff. Any word on that?

not neccesarilly. look at the poster above you. he suggested an LTR and he rides an R.

as for the original poster sorry i cant help you. not really up to date on the 450s. the only one i've ridden is the R and it was nice but not my style. to many out to keep up with now. ill get a YFZ one day in a couple years but for now my KFX400 suits me just fine. good luck on ur search brotha. let us know what u get.

No the LTR's have new shocks for 08, its the 06 and 07's that were stiff. And from what I hear the new LTR shocks are great and I'd get a LTR if I were you just because of what you plan on doing with it. I'm also deciding what 450 to get and I have my choices down to they DS and LTR now and I have no clue which one I'm getting lol.

i like the ds but i mainly like the ltr for the hole race package thing. Good luck choosin between those 2

if you are going to be maily racing go with the ltr, it wider and easier to get set up for mx. the kfx is no slouch though, but i might be abit biased. once you get the suspension dialed in they have great shocks and it feels light in the air. good luck on this one man, but the main thing is get what you want, dont let someone talk you in or out of getting what you really want.

well id say if you seriously are racing, and have to do it on a really tight budget , then shoot for the ltr.... in all other scenarios get the kfx

the 09s will be released julyish i believe. correct me if im wrong. and yes its wider stock. but if you realy get into racing you will end up with an aftermarket front end on it anyways. id say go to a dealer and ride one of every 450 and go with witchever you feel most comfortable on.

Thanx for the help everyone, im on a really tight budget so i guess ill mainly go for the ltr, all thought i really like the kfx's engine over the ltr's

Out of all the people that posted replies, your the only one to point out that the width of the LTR means nothing when you'll most likely go aftermarket on your front end and axle anyway!

thats exactly why i ike the ltr, lets say i buy a new yfz then i buy a set of long travel houser a-arms then thats 760 bucks then i want to buy a wider axle from lsr thats about 380 bucks i just spend 1140 dollars then i want to buy shocks thats about 800 bucks plus the pie thats about 500 bucks. If i buy the ltr all i have to buy r some nerfs chery-bomb killswitch and maby shocks
