Well it looks like im gonna go with the Yzf cause i can get them super cheap. It will most likely be a yzf400 like a 98. WHat things should i do to it to make it as fast as a 426 engine or more powerful. Im thinking

New piston - bored
Maybe stroked
Titanium valves from a newer 426 with new springs
Ported/head flowed.

Can you think of anything else i want it to be relible. IS there weak things i should look for in a engine this old???

some hot cams and a bore job is about all you'll get . hteres really nothing you can do to the motor to increase it's power drasticly so your better off modding other parts instead

Well,I'd get a 426F cyl for like $200(i thinkt hats what they run)

Then get a newer 426F carb

and also,I ehar the stock cams w/ a porting,3-angle valve job,and bigger valves make the best HP...the stock carb and cams work best on them 426F's and 400F's

a whole bike for 3500 or less canadian. wich is about 2200 U.S.

THats alot better then buying just the engine from the internet considering i can ride the bike before i buy it.
