Anyone know if there is any difference between the 86-88 stator and the 89 stator?

86-88 part# 31120-HA2-671

89 part# 31120-HA2-741

Im replacing my stator and was wondering if the 89 would improve anything rather than the 86-88.... Any info would be great!!

The 89 stator has a different plug on it. The 89 stator will only work on an 89 harness, unless you modify it. There is no performance gain between different years. 86-88 are interchangeable.

If you're ordering a brand new one, then by all means, get the correct one. But if you are buying a used one, a $1.99 connector modification will allow any year to work.

I ended up going with a new stator and found a really clean flywheel... So thanks anyways:D
