i have stock size rims on the front now and 22x7x10 tires. will 20x6x10 fit? i want a 20 inch tire without having to get new rims. i also have stock sized rims on the back 20x10x9 and want to go down to a 18. will i have to buy new rims?

The first number in 22x7x9 is 22 which is height. The middle number "7" is width. and the last number "9" is rim size as long as the tires last number is 9 it will fit your rim.

Yes the 10 is the front rim size and the 9 is the rear rim size you can put 20x7x10 on front and 20x10x9 on back if thats what you want.

alright. and for people who are doing mx- do you run 1 tooth smaller sprocket in the front along with 18s. or will the smaller tires be enough.

I kept the stock gearing on mine when I went to 18's in the back.

heres a idea gearing chart if need to help out also

A SMALLER than stock FRONT sprocket will give you more TORQUE.
A LARGER than stock FRONT sprocket will give you more SPEED.
A SMALLER than stock REAR sprocket will give you more SPEED.
A LARGER than stock REAR sprocket will give you more TORQUE.
By changing 1 tooth on the FRONT sprocket, that is about equivalent to changing the REAR sprocket 3 teeth.

not trying to take over this thread but how many people run a 20" rear for MX? I ride almost all trails but I will be doing a bit of MX here and there. I dont feel like buying 18" rears so will 20" rears be ok?

i do like 50/50 track/trails and 20s on the back would be good, maybe go down a tooth in the front. i was gonna do that but know i think im gonna just get 18s.

I wil most likely only be doing practice nights going out there to have fun. I just want to make sure I can have the speed or snap to clear everything

The handling is a little different but with proper gearing you can snap out of the corners and clear everything you want.

Jesse, you may want to wait on the sprocket because going to 18" rears is already a big gear reduction.
