it'll go in there fine. there are a few things that need to be addressed but nothing tooo big. the only real fabbing is to mount the 250 rad.

look in the hybrid section. there's plenty on it there.

If you were to pull this swap, my best advice to you would be to use lots of loctite on assembly.;)

i'm doing this and i started it up today. it's not hard with a little know how and help from others who have done it (myslef and my86r) the front engine mounts i used the stock 400ex ones and cut some notchs in them to clear the engine and bent the left side one so it would work. and then the rear mount i used the stock 250r mount and used the stock 400ex bushings for the swinger but i took the one from the left side and put it in the right and cut the one from the left so the chain would line up and thats all i did for engine mounting. the exhaust was easy i have a esr trx5 and it didn't need any modding just a small bracket to mount the pipe to the frame and i used some stock ex engine mount soacer to space out the can. for the intake you will need eather a aftermarket shock with remote rezzy or a stock 250r one like 86 qoud r did but i think he said he took the bottom mount from the 400ex rear shock and put it on the 250r one so it would bolt up. and then turn the intake tube so it runs to the left side of the shock and the carb will bolt right up. the radiator i made some brackets and mounted it to the oil tank and oil cooler mounting tabs and that works good but make sure to make room for the exhaust (i made that mistake). the only other things is small stuff like the overflow bottle for the cooling system and stuff like that. i am posting picks of mine.

on my 250r there is a mount in the center of the motor on each side. what did you do with that mount if anything at all?

the only mounts i'm useing are the front mounts and the rear for the swing arm bolt. it seams to be strong and i don't race so i think it will hold up fine but i won't be able to tell untill i ride the **** out of it this summer.

that will more than likely be fine using just those mounts j450rking but to be on the safe side i'd either fab up the head stay mounts or some for the bottom center. ;)
