300 ex axle carrier question

is the metal tube inside of the carrier supposed to be loose. i have all the bearings and have the carrier cleaned out. i didnt knoe if that was supposed to move around in there...thanks

Yes, it is not supposed to touch the carrier or the axle, just the bearings.

Its a spacer for the bearings, it should be snug to both bearings or the bearings are not set all the way in..
