05 450R Key and Hbar switch removal

Can the 05 be run with out the key switch and the handle bar switch hooked up.....I know it'll run, but I'm wondering if the fan will still operate??? I thought I read a post on here previously about this matter?????

There are 4 wires on the switch harness. Red, black, green and a black with a white stripe.
Cut the switch off harness. Splice the red and black wires together. That will make your fan, lights and carb heater work. The other 2 can be hooked up to a kill switch or just taped off. If you wire in a kill switch the green goes to the ground.
