Well folks it finally happened to me last night.. A couple of days ago I was playing COD4 online and the game started to freeze.. So I thought maybe I needed to just give it a reset.. SO I reset the system and the game started again.. Low and behold the thing just froze again... SO now I think it's just the game.. SO I plop in MXvsATV untamed in that baby. Started to load and then BAM another freeze.. SO by now I'm pissed as hell!!!!!. I call it a night and then get one of those cans that blow air so I thought I just needed to blow some air into the system to clean it out.. Well I did all that and this time I decided to put a fan bowing ont he system to see if it was a heat issue.. So I grab my little fan at work and bring it home. Start it up played one game of COD4 and after the game it was going into the menu and it froze. SO I turned it off and then turned it back on and 3 red lights. I've had this system since Jan of 06 which isn't bad for one of the first one's to come of the line I guess. So now my $400 paper weight is off to Microsoft to get fixed... I have no idea what to expect when I get it back but I'm sure it will be another round of red lights along with having to send it in again..

its free to get it fixed, takes a couple weeks to get one back, and they dont send you your xbox back, they give you a refurbished one back.

What if you dont by that 2 yr service warranty thing or whatever when you buy the xbox? i bought my xbox like 3 days ago and now im worried if something happens to it that it wont be fixed for free.

I don't feel that I should have to resort to having to wrap it in a towel to fix it.. For a $400 console the things should run flawlessly.. But it's microsoft so go figure. I have some friends that have used the towel trick, and it worked but other haven't. Just waiting to get my box shipped so I can send it in..

That sucks man. I have a 360 too and so far now problems. I only play it like once a month, though. My friend just had to send back his PS3 because it stopped reading games, which is ironic because he would always talk about how high and mighty they were:p

no papers. just call them and they'll send you a box to send it to them in. about three weeks and you'll have it back...all free as long as you tell them about the three red lights
