400ex has no power

one of my 400ex has a problem the engine doesnt seem to run right. it will start but it has no power when u get going we thought it was the carb, we cleaned it and it didnt help. if you have any idea please help

This may seem dumb, so dont get offended, is the choke on? That'll do that. Does is have a full tank of gas? or is it low and its starving for gas?

what year is the quad?
does it smoke?
did it just loose power out of no where, or did you change or replace something that could of done this,

no the choke isnt on an it has a full tank

i was riding the quad on my track and i took an corner and it felt like the quad was low on gas so i went and put gas in it and that didnt help it just quit out of no where

and it is a 99 an it doesnt smoke

if it happened clear out of no where like that,

it seems to me like its a fuel related problem, i would re-clean the carb, drop the bowl and take out the jets, and clean everything,

also check the vent on the carb and the vent on the gas tank,,

honda300 had it right. I'd check the gas cap. Does it run good for a few minutes, then suffer? If so, there may be something clogging the air relief tube.

no it isnt blown up
would it run if it was blown up

Make sure the 2 small screw the hold the needle retainer in the slide didnt come loose.It will only cough and hiccup with anything more than a quarter throttle.i have personally seen this happen.Guy was trying different needles and positions etc and must not have tightened them snug in the heat of the moment,it happens.
