300ex w/ 400ex shocks!!!

ok i did the 400ex aarms and tirods and when i weld new shock mounts on would it b better to lay the shock down a little bit??????so the shock isent quite as straight up ...by the way im shuld gogin to race xc if that makes a difference on how they b..............?????? :huh

If you don't copy the 400ex layout exactly, you're gonna have a much harder time getting shocks that are properly set up. You'd have to tell the shock mfg every dimension and angle of your front end, for them to set you up. Not very easy to measure.

To set it up like a 400ex: Put an angle finder on the top a-arm and get it at 30 degrees for full droop. Top mounts should be 10 7/8" apart.

Much easier to buy shocks now, and if you ever need to sell them you can say they are set up for a 400ex.
