My brother-in-law has turned the rear rims around on his 250x for years and has never had a problem and he rides hard.

Yes! You can do this.

But you have a higher chance of bending tie-rods, etc.

Ultimately, more wear will be exerted, but I've had minelike this for a good while, and the only thing I broke/bent was a tie-rod when I hit a log in 3rd.

How much width can you gain? Better that buying spacers?

well i have a LoneStar Excaliber axle and it is 2inches wider on each side and i have all the spacers on it so im not sure what it would be if you just bought spacers..i was wondering aboput the front end tho.

I heard somewheres that it makes it 2 inches wider on each side....I think...not too sure though.

But you can definately notice a diffrence in stance, and riding, ya just gotta watch out for those trail obsticales :):D

i'm at school right, so I don't have any pics of my quad on this computer, but I'll post some when I get home of my bent tie-rod, and my quad.

i would not suggest doing this, it puts an extreme amount of stress on your front end and can cause some damage. It sounds like a great idea and i looked into flipping my wheels to but after seeing the damage that can be done its just not worth it, just buy some housers if you want to make your quad wider...just my .02

and RaptorMan please stop flaming

not everyone has $1000 to put into a new front end

What phatswinn said, this could just be temperary thing till you get your new arms?

not everyone can afford stuff, like me, I'm in school, and alot of times I can't buy stuff till I save up for awhile. No flame intended, jsut sayin stuff :) :D

I did this with wheel spacers for one race. It felt very unstable. When landing from a jump my suspension compressed way too much. I changed right away. BTW with spacers and the front wheels turned around I just made Tech inpection at 50" I scraped both sides.

bent spindles, broken hubs, bent tirods, not to mention it will bottom so much easier...just save up and do it right, otherwise you will be saving up just to fix it

I used to run the front wheels flipped around on my 250X. But after breaking and replacing two spindles, a brake caliper, and a brake rotor, not to mention being very close to some broken bones, I found it best to run them the way the Honda engineers intended them to be ran. So if you don't have much money, this route won't save you too much either. Trust me.

whats the difference between running offset wheels or flipping the rims? Isnt it the same?
