I have 2 questions. First what are the torque specs on the header pipe nuts for a 2001 400ex? I can't find it in the clymer manual. Also, I just installed an FMF powerbomb header and an FMF Q2 pipe with a K&N filter, air box lid off. I rejetted according to FMF's recommendations. It started right up and sounded ok, but the header pipe gets red hot in the area where it goes into the cylinder head. Is this normal? I only started it that one time because I didn't want to ruin anything. Please help. Thanks.

the header nuts should be torqued to somthing like 20ft lb. if you mean the header is actualy glowing red then i would go up a jet size. check your plug and see what it looks like and go from there. if it's a light tan then i would richen it just a little bit but i always like to be on the safe side with jetting.

27 Nm or 20 lb/ft. Just did mine. If the exhaust got red hot, you're way lean.
