I have a buddy that wants to put my 450r swinger on his 400. Is this possible? Next question if you can is what kind of linkage and shock setup does he need to get? Thanks fellas.

Swinger will work, but the carrier from his 400 won't exactly fit, but it will work. He could use his factory linkage if he wanted to.

I tried it, everything bolts right up, problem is the shock mounts are in different places and it just wasn't right....

Thats what I figured would happen. I have a stock 450r shock and linkage and he has his 400 so we may try a couple different shock and likage combos to see what will work. How much longer is the 450 swinger than the 400? He keeps standin his bike up at the drag strip.

Forgot to mention that. 04-05 Swingers are the same length. 06 and up are around an inch longer. He would need to use his linkage and his shock. The linkage is quite a bit different, but if you try to put the 450 shock on the 400, it lowers the rear end a lot.
