I just bought a hmf sport series slip on pipe. I was just wondering if i need a jet kit to run that pipe? And if it was a good buy?

if i were you i would find a K&N for around 40 or so and then get a couple of jets off jetsrus.com or sometihing like that then jsut get the outerwears seperate cause its goign to be cheaper that way...

Go with the Keihin jets from a local store I think they are about 6 bucks and buy a K&N filter or a UNI and you should be set. You really don't need a power up kit or a complete jet kit because more than half of the jets you will never use.

I just bought an HMF slip on, and it came with a 170 jet. Easy in, and runs good.

mine came with a 165 and i know every bike is different and all but that was wayyyyyyy to big for mine.. it was getting toooo much fuel and it would only rev half of what its suposed too.. it couldnt burn all the fuel that it was getting... but my bike is mostly stock.. i ended up going down to a 155

Yeah I run a HMF slip on, choke removed, K&N w/ outerwears and the air box lid and snorkel removed. I run:

Keihin-
Pilot: 42
Main: 155
Needle: 4th clip

It runs super smooth and really good. I'm also in weather mostly 70 - 100 for 4/5ths of the year and I never really ride below 50. I'm at about 62 feet above sea level and where I ride is at 135 ft. I think.
