38mm carb??

For MX am I best just buying a PWK 38MM Air Striker Keihin carburetor or does the 38mm Air Striker carb need to be ported and modified afterwards for me to get power out of it?

it'll be fine just how it is but, ya can play with the varying needles and get a better mid range from it.
