03 pred, no 3rd gear, sometimes 4th.

I am picking up an 03 predator on the cheap from a friend of mine. It runs but it has no third gear and 4th you can only sometimes catch. I've been in a bunch of top ends and whatnot before and I'm sure I can handle a project like this but I have never actually done too much on a bottom end other than clutch work. I was thinking a stripped gear or bent shift dogs could be the problem. what do you guys think? I just kind of want to get a general idea of what parts i'll need to buy.

very common problem in the 03,s theres a kit you can buy from hpd its about 175 and ya gotta split the cases [been there done that] not too hard theres a guy on predatorowners dot com parting a pred out theres also a video overthere you can buy that goes through a hole tear down good luck man
