ok i am in the middle of my rebuild and i cant decide on a white frame or a red frame. i see lots of red frames with black plastic but not many white frames with black plastic. i also heard the white is very hard to keep clean in red clay. i tt race so it wont see alot of abuse.

i say white if ya dont mind the up keep. the red would make it look like to 07 special edition.

thats why i was tryin to avoid red . every atv company has had a red frame at sometime. the plastics may get changed to white . it would look like this . but black plastic(also thats not my bike)

Are you going to powder coat or paint your frame? If Your going to powder coat it then i'd say go with white. But if your going to paint i'd go with red. A white powder coated frame is easier to keep clean than a white painted frame. As for cleaning just wash with simple green and its all clean. Just my.02

It will fit as long as you are using the 04-05 mounts. The mounting points on the frame didn't change, only the shape of the mounting brackets.

Ziptie:eek2: I was just talking about the actual motor. The mounts for the oil cooler could be fabricated pretty easy.

ok but then an 06 and newer would fit the 04/05 frame with the correct motor mounts?

I did a white frame and blue plastic on my 04. it was a little tough to keep clean. i also race TT. in hindsight i wish i would've tried all red like the '88 250R's.

Off topic, but what is that thing mounted to the plastic shrouds that looks like a sucker?

Its the red cap for the coolant tank. Looks to be a tank from a cannondale.

if it was me i would try to steer clear of both of those colors. Both have been done hundreds of times, thousands of times for the red. I would try to pick something that hasnt been done alot of. You said black plastics, look into like a transorange or something completely different then the norm. Just my opinon tho, but if i was to pick between the two id say white because there are tons of other plastic options

yea i picked white . i'll post a pick when its finished. and the thing on the shrouds is the coolnt bottle for the radiator. with a oversized radiator u cant use the stock coolant resvoir. or at least with that one u cant
