Ok I found this 2001 Polaris Trail Blazer 250 today on Craigslist for $850 or best offer and it needs tie rod ends and a new starter and front tires. Here's the thing, I only have $600 and I was saving it for my first car since I'm getting my license next month. I just wanted to hear from you guys if it was a good idea or not to buy it and fix it up and resale it for more money because I know that this quad is worth up to $1800 or more and $850 obo is just super cheap, I mean how can I pass up this deal? would you? The quad starts with pull start because it need a new starter which is $165 new for this quad and the tie rod ends are $15 each. Anyhow is it worth taking the chance cause I think that it is. Also I'm going to look at it tommorrow and ride it. thanx alot and I hope to hear from as many of you as possiable because this is taking a huge chance on my behalf.

thanx for your suggestions guys. I forgot to mention that the motor has been rebulit 2 times with 2 new trannys the guy said and he also said that its bored .30 over. All I know is that I'm gonna go look at it and check the ENTIRE quad over,up,down, left, right of it. And when I test it, I'll make sure that I take it for a long ride and test the brakes and stuff. I ain't just gonna throw my money away. I had a friend that had a trail blazer that he just sold for 1800 and it always had problem's with over heating, then it wouldn't start, so he sold it:D and once again I'm only considering buying this to make money on and I'm a businness man so I like taking risks just not this big of one's lol.
But i get what you guys are saying and thanx again, keep up the suggestions guys

I'd save your money, that thing looks pretty shady. Save your money, buy a car, then maybe find a project quad.

DONT DO IT!!

1) Trail Blazers and Bosses are pieces of crap.

2) You will NEVER see $1800 out of it. By the time you fix it you'll be lucky to get $1000 for the thing..

It's gonna be a losing battle...:ermm: Ive been the polaris trailblazer/boss route before.

The above post sounds to me like you don't care if you buy a piece of **** then sell that piece of **** for triple the price. Does that sound right or am i missing something. Sounds to me like your the bigger peice of **** here if you try to make a decent amount of money on selling somebody an ATV that you KNOW could be a big LEMON! :grr: :macho

nope I'm not anything like that. cause I've been thur before and I know, if I buy it I WILL NOT SELL IT UNTIL EVERYTHING IS FIXED ON IT AND IT IS SERVICED. So sorry you misunderstood me reptikes but its ok.:D

I wouldn't use a trail blazer as an investment.

Don't buy it... With that, I would always have to wait for you to catch up on the trails if we go riding! :p

Seriously, I think you have been given sound advice. If you are wanting to go the route of buy-fix-sell, then get something popular that will retain value and not too beat up.

thanx for the advice guys and you'll be happy to know that I told the guy to go screw himself on the phone because I had a few friends call him and ask him the same questions and he said a different thing to everyone of us:grr: lol but its ok now I can still save for a truck and I get paid friday so life's good:blah: :bandit: lol and ya thats true LTandRaptorrider but we'll see when i get a DS or LTR lol but when I do get one of them I'll PM you and we can go riding somewhere.

IMO no worth the risk. If we were talking about a Honda go for it because they run forever. But you could be spending more than you thought for that TrailBlazer

ya thats why I didn't buy it cause them old polaris's don't hold their value and they don't like to run.
