stabilizer question

Ok so i got a golden west cycles steering stabilizer that i bought for my 300ex a year or so ago. i was gonna put it on my 450 today but then i realized the piece that hooks to the steering stem is too small. So, I was wondering if I can just buy the piece that adapts to the stem or what? Thanks -Sean

take a dremel to it and open it up.
