I am about due for new grips. I just usually buy any kind, but this kind, I want some good/quality grips. I hate when/if I run in mud, I hate when I cant get any grip on the grips!! I also have a twist throttle, so I really need the grip. I would like if you could:
Post your favorite grip name
Post who makes it
Post how much it cost
Post where I could get it
Also, picture(s) would be nice!
Thank-You!

The best grips I have used are the flange-less spider grips. They are absolutely the best grip I have ever used. I would recommend them to anyone. They are a little larger diameter and pretty soft. After using them I will not buy any other grip. The price is about $11 you can find them all over the web. Sorry I don't have any pictures of them but take my word they look great.

I got the A3 ones. I'm sure there pretty much the same thing. Hey while we are talking about hand grips and stuff does anyone know where to get them ring things that go into the end of the bar to keep your hand from falling off? I can't seem to find them anywhere, I'm not talking about the grip donutz either. They are knobsters or something like that.

On my street bike, I've got ProGrips, style 724. The size is 22-25mm i.d. x 120mm. I love them. Super confortable, and have a really good feel. I've never changed the grips on the quad before (I've been away from it since October and won't be back to it until June), so I don't know if the clip-ons on my bike are the same size as the ATV bars. But, if you have the twist throttle, I don't think it would be a problem, since I imagine the twist side is the same size as the twist side of a regular bike, and the non-twists would be the same size also.
They make ATV grips also, but I like the style of the ones I have, so I'm gonna give them a try when I get back home (I'm also going to install a twist-throttle). The ends are open though...
You can find them from $10 - $15 online. There's a bunch of different color combos.

Oury by a long shot. Prevents a lot of blisters, and the are the most durable squishy grips I've ever had.

Smith makes some pretty good ones so does progrip, make sure you use grip glue, it helps especially when it gets wet, cus they can slide off and thats no fun.

I dont think I want those, just because I seen them on your quad. The only reason is, your bike is, well, like a show quad (well, atleast to me..) and I dont think that think had ever gotten any mud on it, or else it doesn't look like it had.
Jk. lol

What is the difference? Also, whats the difference between having the "O" on the innerside of the grip. One has it and one doesn't.. hmm

Scott Hurricanes aren't much better. I don't use grip glue. I use spray paint. I spray my bars and the insides of my grips. Then I shove them grips on and pull them right back off. Then pinch the air out, shove them on again, and leave them alone for about 24 hours. I've never had a grip fall off to this date.

The Spider Grips I got fit really tight against the bar. W/O grip glue I don't even think they would come off. I've herd the spray paint method works really good.

I just got some Spider A3's. I hope to have my quad done this weekend and test them out.:macho
for glue anyone try the glue that comes in a spray paint can? The Elmers spray paint glue stuff is actually really strong and it dries really quick.

Another vote for ODI Lock-ons... Probably the last grip you'll buy. Mine have been on since 05 and still work great.

I have run Renthal full diamond medium compounds that seemed to give me bad blisters.
After that I tried the classic Scott Hurricane full waffle ATV grips in soft compound and liked them.
Right now I run the TAG ATV grips in soft compound and am pretty content with them. They are like a stippled grip on top and waffle on the bottom. I really like the "bulge" where the flange normally is, it's very comfortable to have your hands riding against it. My knuckle used to rub the side of the thumb throttle housing (taking paint off the housing and skin off the side of my knuckle :scary: ) and the inner "bulge" on the TAG grips keeps my hands comfortably spaced away from it. I'm always down with trying something new, but I really like these TAG grips for now.

As far as grip glues, I like to use 3M spray adhesive in the can. Either the Super 77 or the 80 rubber and vinyl adhesives work great. You can find them at most hardware stores. The 3M weatherstrip adhesive mentioned above works well too, no fuss. Spray a little on the the inside of the grip and it slides right on no wrestling to get it on there. Once it sets they won't budge until you cut them off.

did you use renthal grip glue on them?
klutch
03-27-2008, 07:58 PM
They fell apart on the grips not falling off the bike.
I use the Spyder A3 Grips and I put them on with an air compressor. I shoot air under the grip while pushing it on. They are so tight that they never move. I use no glue or paint.
