Z400 on a 450r

Anyone know if Z400 shocks set up for plus one arms would work on stock 450r arms, if you whats the advantages and disadvanges????

Hey Travis...The shocks set up for plus 1 arms would probably be set for the extra leverage of the longer arms. How many pound rider are they set for...do ya know that? If they are for a rider about your weight or a lil less, they may be great on stock length arms of your R. The shorter arms are gonna make them a lil more stiff. Ya may be able to play with the settings and tune em a lil better.

Oh yeah, hope ya like the nerfs. :D

Added a 450R carb to Mikes 400 yesterday, and it helped a decent amount. Helped the hotcam I put in it the other week.

Oh yeah, the eyes where the shock bolts go thru on the z shocks are a lil thinner than the eyes on the R. I dunno if aftermarkets will be the same, but I kinda doubt it. Ya may have to add a washer to the Z shocks to take up the lil slack.

Glad that help mikes 400 maybe he will quit botherin you now LOL that way I can start!!!.. I am going to put the nerfs on today but they will be great they are in awesome shape, I kinda figured the washer deal on the Z shocks in the eyelet hole just wondering what the length differance would be, and yes they are set up for a 180lb rider and I am still tipping the scales at 200 I know I can probley get them to work better than stock ones if I dont lose alot of travel!!.. They are coming off that Z I was telling you about yestarday..

LOL...If ya need help man,let me know. Ya know where to find me. Heck, go ahead and try them shocks out...I bet they'll work real good with a lil tuning. Got nothing to lose if he's willing to let ya try em. Take a shock off each quad and measure eye to eye on em. An inch or so longer ( if they are longer ) on the z shocks should be ok.

i think you will be fine. I had a buddy around home here that put a set of +2 lonestar arms on a 450R with stock Z shocks and he loved it. rode MX on that set-up 1 whole summer before he saved some money up for aftermarkets. the quad set just perfect so the eye to eye must be close.

I seen Z shocks on an EX, and I have seen LTR shocks on Z's....:ermm:
