What can i get as far as engine mods for a 250x? I was thinking K&N, Pipe, and a good Carb. Suggested Brands? I seem to have a little bit of trouble finding things that fit mine. Well, I really just want to know what is the best use of my $400.00 for this quad. Everything else on it is perfect.
Thanks!
Ben

Those mods are a really good place to start.. Then later you can put a big bore kit or what ever else on it when you want even more power.

Good tires, and new different size sprockets will help a little too.;)

I would go with a high compression piston(Motojoe $100), aftermarket exhaust (? $250), and a 400ex carb(Ebay $50).
Than later, when you got more cash, change the size of sprockets and K/N filter(Rockymountain, both sprockets and filter $100)

This Is What I Did To My X & It Really Woke It Up:
Wiseco Piston .080 Over $75
Web Cam $110
Bore Job $60
K&N $30
Gasket Set $20
Haynes Repair Manual $25
About 5 Hours Of My Own Labor To Do It All (Thanks To The Book Above)
Thats $320 You Still Have $80 For Some New Tires Or Add on Stuff That Looks Good Or Put Toward A Pipe After You Save Another Couple Bucks.
Also That $80 Is The Core Charge For The Web Cam... You Get That Back Once You Send Them Your Old Cam & You have 6 Months To Do That.
