I'm 6'3 220 and it has plenty of pep even stock. All my mods are in my sig but even a stock 400ex had plenty of get up and go.

6'4" 260lbs here and my 400 has plenty of pep. all i had when i got it was a k&n filter and white bros slip on pipe. still had stock jetting in it too. i rejeted it and noticed quite a difference.

i would check your jetting to make sure it is accurate and maybe look at an aftermarket pipe and air filter.

well you bought an 07

that is the worst year for performance, you should trade it for my 1999 400ex ha ha ha ok j/k

did you buy it new ? make sure your air filter is clean and it has fresh gas

what where you riding before you got the 400?

I've always rode utility 4x4 so when I got this thing it felt like a rocket at first so I guess I'm getting used to it. It seems like all the guys I see out where I ride are all little guys and they blow past me. Of course I dont know if they're stock or not but they seem like they're flyin!! In all honesty its probably got more to do with ridin ability than anything!!!!HAHA

if you like trail riding i think you got the right bike even if your a bit on the big side (PC) for mostly trail riding you are fine to drop one or even two teeth on the front sprocket. stock is 15 tooth and you can get em for 15 bucks or so. also ditch the airbox lid and get a k&n or uni air filter. maybe even bump the main jet a size or two. this will give you a little bang for the buck and i think youll notice a difference

Actually, stock on the '07 is a 14 tooth. I know because I just took my stock one off and dropped it to a 13 for my flat track race tomorrow. It was 15 on the earlier models.

i would say pipe uni filter with airbox open, unlees u ride in the mud and if thats not enogh stage 2 hotcamz and 11/1 piston, as for exhaust u will hear people say hmf wich is a good exhaust for a great price the slip on i belive was 219 on ebay , i decided to go and buy a whitebros e sereis i like the sound and tunabilty , any aftermarket pipe will provide good gains, cobra excluded

6'4 280lbs- my mods in sig. plenty of pep to pull my fat ***** around. Probably filter/pipe/rejet will give you the most gains per $.
I recently dropped a tooth front sprocket and love the acceleration I gained. "Feels" like it added 10 hp in the hills
