Fuel Petcock Positions?

on the fuel petcock it says the on position is up and the reserve is down but on the black side cover it says on facing down so which is on an which is reserve? i've been riding with the arrow pointing down thinkn i had the fuel on and just need to know whats right. Thanx for any help!

I am not sure. Before I cleaned my carb I used the black platic as reference. I put it back together and now I have to put it on res. to run. I have no res. now. So your guess is as good as any.

Arrow pointing up should be the reserve, arrow down would just be normal "on".

Mine says "On" is down and "RES" is up on the plastics, however when I bought it the guy said "On" was up and "RES" was down, don't know how that happened...

I dont know y they have it one way on the petcock and the opposite on the plastic im confused:confused: I guess i could turn it down and let it run til it stops and turn it up and c if it starts if it wont start i'll kno i was already on reserve. Thanx everybody
