View Full Version : Hate When You Can't Find What You're Looking For-->Louder After a Better Cam Install?

Just got done the HRC kit with a 03 CRF cam. Looked through all the pages and couldn't find what I swear I read before somewhere on here. I use the search, but honestly the search on this forum kinda sucks.

But any who, after the install the motor seems to be louder. Ticking but not really in a bad way. Making sure this is ok. Thanks :ermm:

It is a preformance cam shaft...
If you installed it correctly and adjusted the valves.
Should be alright.

A little louder tick is normal when going from a stock cam to a more aggressive one.
As long as it isn't hardcore loud and all the clearances are fine it should be good.

I was freaking out also when I put the 02 crf cam in mine. It does tick, that is normal.

well...how does it run compared to the stocker ? i have the same cam here, but havent put it in yet. 03-06 crf cam 14110-men-670 right ? im trying to dial in my setup first...ill put the cam in later. IS IT MEANER? WHERES THE POWER AT ? I GOTTA KNOW :macho

I'm not telling, gotta find out for yourself like I did! But put the f'in cam in now!

J/k. I'm as happy as a pig in **** with it. Pulls really hard and keeps going. I guess the top end isn't crazy, but it's still nice. It is an 03 cam.

Just can't wait till summer to ride in the dirt, but snow/ice is good for now. :cool:

its supposed to be a good bottom-mid cam for x/c racing. thats why i got it. i even have a 11.5 piston too but im too lazy to put it in :D

Ah come on! Wish I did a piston at the same time, just cause it was ripped apart, but don't have any extra money. Scraped to piggy bank for this set-up. Was worth it though.:devious:
