Whats up w/ all the chain threads lately?!

Also, whats rivet style chain?! With the master link I get with a purchase of a chain you just push it on with your finders and snap the clip on.

there is two types of masterlinks, one with a clip and one with rivets, the rivet style is supposed to be alot stronger, the clip style can actually fly off, I have never seen it happen but I have heard of it happening.

I got that press tool and it does work good, and on another note about the clip style, IDK how you guys put on the clips on your chains but your suppose to face the clip with the closed side in rotatation with the chain so if something hits the clip or what not the clip wont get pulled off.

Rivet style sounds like a lot bigger pain in the butt. Well, I guess thats better than being stuck in the woods 20+ miles from the truck, alone. lol

Well, I am pretty happy with the clip, if that ever happens to me, the next time I get a chain, it'll be rivet. Do they cost more?

that is the tool used for the clip style, there is some other kind of goofy press tool that you need to mushroom the rivets.
