i started playing with a little home project and thought some of the stuff i have figured out may help others; i had one of bubbas old xtreme tantraum rolling chassies sitting around and decided to build a pit bike and something to show case my powder coating at the track. first i got a set of duals from a pro shark. found i could make them work but it was going to take a lot of welding and cutting. i purchased a set of dual a-arms from a member here from a 41" wide drr. the bottoms bolted right on perfect but where the 2 bars v above the a-arm i had to cut one for clearance. i then welded mounts for the top a-arms. now i had drr a-arms and pro shark spindles with drum brakes. the ball joint on the drr arms was bigger than the hole in the spindles so i got my drill and dremel tool out and made them fit. i had a pair of honda 400ex hubs and rotors. they slide on but the front bearing is too small for them to slide all the way on. measured the bearing needed and ordered them today so now the 400ex hubs and rotors will fit the spindles. next to make mounts on the spindle for the calipers. i also have the 41" axle. it slid right in the polaris bearing carrier and the polaris sprocket hub fit. now on the other side the old polaris carries had drum brakes so i have a 400ex rear hub and rotor that i have not tried yet but am hoping it will work. also on the drr axle the polaris hubs will not work but eton hubs do. the frame is still pretty rough but i will try to get some pics in the next couple of days and post. tearing into the motor tomorrow to powder coat cases and add 47 mm stroker crank and ported 54mm cylinder. i will keep all posted on the progress.

here are a few pics. like i said it is still pretty rough. after all mounts are built and welded on i will strip it back down and dress up the welds and powder coat the frame. the blue area is what was welded on to put the top a-arms on. still have to weld on bumper mounts. probably use a 400ex bumper since they are pretty cheap on ebay.

400ex hub on spindle with inner bearing in it but no outer. outer will take a 35mm x 17mm x 10mm bearing.

i think we need some updates!

and you should move the mounts were it makes the bumper strait up and down

the bumper will be straight up and down. the top ,mounts are not welded on yet just the bottom so the bumper was just sitting there. updates ? man the last post was day before yesterday, LOL wont be working on it for a while, got a suzuki 450 in the shop to put a crank in plus a honda rancher to put a timing chain in and a yamaha yz250f to do a top end on. didnt do nothing for 2 weeks and now it hits all at once. also this weekend i powder coated dodgepowers rims and grab bar for his suzuki 450.
