Can someone tell me what the cc limit is for a 70cc 4 stroke in nationals? I would rather not have my son race against 90 and up two strokes or the 125 and up 4 strokes. At least not his first one.

Hey Bullet, This 4 stroke rule has not been addressed in the 70cc class as far as I know. You might have to do some real arsss kissing to get them to add an addendum to the rules. I believe it is about time esp. with the Typhoon and Can-am 4 strokes out there. The 70cc 4 stroke will never keep up with a 2 stroke 70. There are alot of different kits from the pitbike world that would allow them to keep up but get out your wallet! LOL

My son is 8 yrs old and races a Typhoon. I was hoping there was a class with a closer cc limit than a 125 4 stroke. This would be his first national, so what class do you suggest? I think I should just ditch the C.R.A. and there stingy cc limit and just buy the 125 motor and commit to National events.

If you are going to run the typhoon you would do best if you went with a 125 which would allow you to run the jr production group and maybe the 90 mob group. Both groups are very competitive so you will need to do work to the motor and suspension to stay in the hunt, there are good riders in both classes.

Racing national is costly but so is running 30-40 cra races to stay in the points race. My son started to race nationals last year and loves it. We have meet some great people through nationals and don't regret it at all and can't wait for this year to start. Now if I can only get Rocky , logan #34 dad, to commit it will only get better.

Not knowing what motor you have for your typhoon , if it is a 70cc you would have to put him in the 70 shifter class and would have to compete against the cobras and the mods. and you would not stand a very good chance. Those bikes are fast and have some very good riders in that class also. Good luck with what ever you decide and we hope to see you at the nationals !!

Hey Brian, If I could get Rookiewrench to pay my way I'd be in there! LOL. But if your going to do a National then I'd recommend running your CVT.

Rocky, Maybe we can run a two for one deal so rookiewrench can pay both of our ways!LOL I will have the Cvt but that is my 6yr olds and he wont part with that. (Idea) Is there a way that I can have my 8yr old run the cvt in a different class that is not on the line at the same time as my 6yr old? HMMMMM I wonder. Do the Nationals run alot of the mini classes together in the same moto? I only plan on doing 1 National this year. You know, just to test the water. If the people I have talked to so far, are at the track like they are on the phone. Then maybe, there may be a few more racers coming next year.
