whatg is the difference in the two pegs designs i see ims roll pegs for 88-89 why wont these fit the 86-87 they mount with the spring and angled bolt mount not directly to the frame?

do 400ex or z400 pegs bolt on to 250r chassis?

each of the two-year sets have comepletely different mounting systems and don't interchange. early models bolt into the side of the frame, later years down through the frame extention.

thank you for the post, it looks like IMS 88-89 pegs would fit both pegs because they use the angled mounting with the pivot bolt and stock spring ill have to do some more searching.

I bought a set of IMS pegs for my 86. When I bought them they said they would also fit 88-9. So I saved them for my 88 project. I did mount them on the 88 frame just fine, but they sat 1" lower and 1" rearward of the stock 88 pegs. I figured I would get a minus 1" brake pedal or modify a stocker.

The 88-9 pegs MIGHT fit in the 86-7 spring loaded mount with some shimming and some tweaking but would be an expensive gamble. They would also sit up 1" and 1" forward of the stock 86-7 pegs. You have to keep the shift lever and brake pedal in mind as well as comfort and weight transfer.

The angle of the mounting pins and the pegs are the same in all years, but the mounting styles are different as Extreme has shown in his pix.

Motofool if you want a set designed for 86-7 style mounts, pm me, I have that set w/kickups I will sell. They are hard to find these days.
