Cleaning the oil cooler

I'm taking apart my 400EX for maintenance/cleaning in preparation of the spring riding season. What is the best way to clean the oil cooler? It's not caked with mud, but it still has the mud stains. What can I safely use to get it back to the aluminum finish ?

try mag etching wheel cleaner, seen it used on a motor, takes all the stains out and makes it look new its like 5 buxs at wal-mart check it out! or u can polish the snot out of it.lol
