when i hit the ignition, the starter just buzzes. its been doin it for awhile but if i shook my quad it use to go. but now it just buzzes.:grr :grr :grr

Your battery is probably dead or very low. Id check all the bolts on the battery connections, and check the wires that run from the battery. Try charging it.

can i put a 12 volt charger to it? on my charger its only got 6 or 12 volt selection. i've been using 6 and its not doing anything.

it's 12 volt battery, check your connections,

Yes, you can use a 12v charger on it, look on the side of the battery, it will tell you how long to charge it and what voltage. Try 10 hours at 12v.

k so if took the cables from the charger and put them to the + and - wires on my should it start?

If shakin' your quad used to make it start, then probably the brushes in the starter motor are worn out. Not too tough to replace if Honda sells them separately.

You might be able to im not sure. Take your battery out and let it charge for about 10 hours, or you can jump start your quad on the nearest hill in 2nd gear, just run with it and jump on it and dump the clutch, it will start right up. If you dont have a hill near you, then put the quad in 3rd gear, pull in the clutch and run with it as fast as you can then jump on it and dump the clutch, it will start. Then ride around for a while and that should charge the battery. The charge might not last long depending on how long you ride it. If it doesnt last long, just throw it on charge for 10 hours.

Frozen - Got a pic of your quad man? It sounds awesome. How did the conversion go? Must handle awesome now! Im waiting to get my front shocks back from the Quadshop, Im having them rebuilt, revalved, and having ssd added to them.

ya it buzzes when the battery goes dead...
I got done chargin mine and it died while runnin so i put it in neutral and the light wouldnt come on so i tapped the battery and it came on. Then i tryed startin and it went off again, tapped again and it came on...do i have a loose connection or is there a problem?

the same thing happend to me, just hold down ur + and -, then she'll zing.
