I would not try to put a YZ motor in a stock 250R frame if I were you. I have seen it done before, even owned one for a while. The YZ motor fits like crap in a stock frame, the rear shock top mount needs to be cut almost in half to make room for the carb and airboot. If you want a yz motor in a 250R frame, I would buy a frame built for it. I have a sweet 2002 Laegers YZ426 frame, fliptop subframe and CR500 link swingarm for sale. $1500 + UPS shipping

better yet, keep the 250R motor. I have a MX ported 250R motor for sale. Bottom end is fresh, piston is new, bore is 67.5 mm Motor is ready to run strong. $1000 shipped

Apparently, what Matt is saying is your decision should be based on whatever he needs to sell at the moment...sheesh!:ermm:

I'd stick with the 250r motor myself...

If that's your opinion...
He just suggests that it's a pita to put a yz426 in a stock trx frame and it's better to stick with the stock engine in the stock frame.

PM, LT250Racer609, he just built one with a 250r frame or tried too?, and now he as a prp frame made for the enigne...he might have some insight on this...

i also heard it was harder to do, if u can, try and score a 400ex frame maybe...

I don't think I'll ever understand the need to do this. If you want a fourstroke race motor in a quad, just buy a YFZ450. Now that they've been out a few years, they can be picked up pretty cheap. Or go the route Matt has shown and go with a frame built for it.

If you want a 250R, put a 250R motor in it.

Not sure why you care, just trying to help a guy out by giving him some options

Dont put a yamajunk motor on a 250r frame, come on now keep the 250r motor on there, you put a yamajunk motor on it, it will make it slower!!
