suspension not setting up?

Hey guys. Not sure what i'm doing wrong but I have a 400ex with 450r schocks on it with Gt thunder springs on the front only.(which they put on for me) So I'm trying to get a softer ride out on the woods (rode my buddys scrambler and sheez what a plush ride. I told him I dont want to hear about any sort of sore back, ride mine then you'll know a workout) so, I have tried to "soften" them with the screw but I really cant tell much difference? also the only difference I can get is by turning the springs tighter. too much I get bouncing, too little I bottom out. Gt Thunder said the valves were fine. What do you think?

all i had to do was turn the compression screw a couple times and they softened right up. :ermm: turning the spring shouldnt make it a softer or harder ride either, all that does is lower or raise the quad. just loosen up that compression screw a good bit
