broke front fender mounts, now what

The mount on the inside of my fenders on my 2001 400ex broke and are unfixable so now what? Does anyone have there fenders cut enough that the mount is eliminated or is that too much. I would love to see some pics. PLEASE

come on people i know i am not the only one who has broke the little plastic tab with a hole in it that the black bar connects to and the frame. So has anyone cut there fenders to compensate for it or is there another fix short of buying new fenders. I really want to see a pic of cut fenders with out the black bar mounting bracket.....:confused:

Bend the rod down and to the rear a bit, turn the threaded mount so it's parallel to the fender, drill a hole in the fender to match the threaded hole in the rod's mount and use the screw through the hole in the fender to the treaded mount on the rod. Mine's worked just fine like this for over 2 years.

I cant tell you how much I hate the search engine on this site, I have never been able to perform a search for what I want I always get this crap....

When I bought my quad it was pretty beat and the tabs were broken so I made new mounts that bolted straight through the plastic. Now I have my fenders cut to where it eliminated the part where the tabs were. I made a mount that holds the front plastic on, I will try to get a picture up.

I did the same this awhile back while I was cutting my fenders, the saw caught on the pastic and tore the nount reight in half. So, I fixed it with the PC7! This stuff is amazing! Takes about 2 days to dry, and gets rock solid. I have had mine for about 4 months, and I ride HARD and its still on. I will post some pictures.

And if you use this method (with I recemend you do...) Make sure to read the instructions and follow them. It is incredible.

i just fixed mine this weekend i used 1 inch steel about 18 ga thick and cut it to fit. i put 2 pieces one on either side of the remaining tab and drilled them and attached them to the fenders with pop riviets and then drilled the bolt hole seems god havent crashed yet to test it out i'll let you know

They make this awesome airless plastic welder I used alot. Its called the mini weld 6 iirc.

You use some fine mesh to reinforce anything and let it into the plastic, then use some supplied plastic strips to melt more plastic in. Turns out nice and works great, I fixed a tab that wasnt even there with this and its STRONG! Could even make it better by using thin gauge sheetmetal instead of the fine wire mesh.

yea i did the same thing as bdtoady22 used some aluminum plate thats reall thin just cut it out with tin snips and drilled 3 holes 1 for the tab on the fram and 2 for rivits to go through into the plastics took me 15 min ill post pics if you want as my bike is already apart for head gasket lol damm pig farmers
