Quad didn't start light didn't comon nothing at all worked so i had the local honda charge the battary and test it every thing was ok. I put it back on and still nothing happens so i get out a volt tester and test the battary and it is good test the positive wire that is good then test the other side of the starter relay and no power is getting to that side (Power gets to the relay but doesn't go through ). so i go and buy a new starter relay and put it in and it still doesn't start and no power is going to the other side. is there a certain way to put it on ? i notice the studs on the relay move up and down are they supose to be pushed down or up ??? o yeah i also checked the fuse and that is fine 2. power just isn't gettin by the starter relay for some reason

same thing happened too a buddys 98 300ex about a month ago, take you ign. switch out, check for voltage between the red wire and a good frame ground, this is the wire that powers everything,if there's not 12 volts there, reach under the gas tank there's a plug with 9 wires coming in and going out, leave your key on and wiggle that connector and see if lights come, his would run great until you jumped it then everything quit, let me know

it attaches right behind the steering stem, on the frame, it's a grayish looking connector, it comes from you handlebar controls, when you find it unplug it and check the red wire there for voltage

won't come off where it attaches, or the plug won't un-plug, there a metal prong on the frame and the plug slides on it, also if your pulse generator is bad your lights with still work

the red wire in that plug is from the fuse, it controls everything on your 300, on my friends it was broke and barely making contact, when jumped it would kill everything. what i did on his was too cut the plug out, you can either cut the red wire from the plug and wire them together, or make a jumper and splice it into the red wire acroos the plug, if you do this be sure too use the same size wire, wrap the up good too, so this doesn't happen again,

the red wire from the fuse goes thru that plug too you ign. switch, one thing you can try is run a wire from the hot sideof your battery too your switch, then turn on switch everything should work, that way you will know it's in that red wire, don't leave it that way unless you add a fuse to the wire
