Dumb question here. When a guy plays online like I do on my laptop are you only playing against other PC's or are all platforms on the same servers?

I'm assuming the servers are split by the game platform? X-Box, PS III, PC

right now the servers are all split but when the big patch with the new maps comes out the pc and 360 are supposed to go on a cross platform server
