Clutch Wont engage

when i pull in my clutch in first. my wheels wont spin free. I took the slack out of the cable. Still wont engage. i took it all apart to check the lifter arm. everything looked ok. any ideas?

I think you mean disengage. When you say the wheels won't spin free in first with the clutch pulled do you mean motor off and machine on the ground like you're trying to push it? If yes it's normal to have some resistance from it being in gear.

Its not some resitance, i can hear it trying to turn the motor over. so.....
