I would like to hear some comments on this filtering setup. I think it is a great compromise between safety and performance.

1)K&N Filter
2)Pre-Charger
3)Foam Cover: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/K-N-25-0810-Air-Filter-Wrap-Pre-Cleaner-Foam-Conical_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQ_trksidZp1638Q2em118Q2el 1247QQcategoryZ42604QQihZ014QQitemZ330210256649QQr dZ1QQsspagenameZWD1V
4)K&N Power Lid
5)Pre-Charger for the Power Lid

I think it would be safe to remove the snorkel with this setup but what are the pros/cons of that?

What are the opinions on this setup?

Well it's an interesting idea, and I'm sure it would stop about any dust and dirt, however, I think that is way overkill. there are so many filtering mediums there i think it would begin to hurt performance.

IMO all you need is a quality foam filter that you clean regularly. I clean mine about every other ride depending on conditions. you could even have a spare filter on hand just in case u need to make a quick swap.

It might look like overkill.

BUT, the K&N with the foam pre-filter sounds like a win-win situation to me. http://www.knfilters.com/airforcewraps.htm

The foam pre-filter blocks 2% airflow while blocking 90% of dust, in addition to a pre-charger(outerwears), and a K&N filter this should be very high performance, while still being very safe.

I am afraid to try a more open lid than the power-lid for my conditions.

We will all have to wait until 08400ex tests them with his 02 sensor.
