Swallowing my pride I ask this question. Giving up on the fact that I will eventually see someone ask or explain the abbreviations.
MX = Motorcross
XC=Cross country (a guess)
TT = Time trial (a guess) l really have no clue
Feel free to add any I have missed.
Someone enlighten an old man. :)
and no laughing you were just as loss as me once, haha. I'm marely older and STILL lost!

FMX = free style motocross

I love these threads. I was lost on a lot of stuff myself for a while. I couldn't figure out why everyone kept typing "bump" all the time. Then I found out what it meant, and noticed how quickly a thread can get buried, and I was like ohhhh...

I don't consider TT & flat track the same...
To me...
Flat track is racing in a circle or oval with little or no banking in the corners on dirt or asphalt.
TT is usually a track with left and right turns and a few rolling jumps but.
