Could somebody tell me how to remove the axel on my 2001 300ex?

You'll need to loosen the Locknut first.
You have 2 large nuts on the right side of the carrier.
Loosen the large skinny one first. Back it off until it's about an inch away from the other one.
The second smaller diameter, wider nut needs to be turned the same direction you turned the locknut to loosen it. It has to move toward the carrier. Once you get it turned in enough you'll see a retaining ring on the axle. Remove the retaining ring. Then the axle will slide right out once you remove the wheel hub on that side.

thanks ! ive got the skinny lock nut loose but can not get the fatter ,wider one to loosen. any suggestions?

You have to get it to turn toward the bearing housing. What you'd think would be tightening the nut.
The nut pushes against the retaining ring pushing the threaded sleeve onto the bearings.
If you're axle is bent it can be a real pain sometimes.
