350x Cdi On A 250x

has anyone ever put a cdi box from a 350x on a 250x? i bought one from a 350x but i don't think it's any good. is there anything you have to do besides plug it in? when i plug it in the reverse light lights up when i try to start it.

I dont know if putting it on will do anything but when I did my 350x conversion I had to cut the plug off a couple inches down and then switch the wires around the best thing to use to reconnect them is a shrink tube connector

you can put the 350x cdi on the 250! it will raise the rev limiter, what you need to do is... there is 6 wires that go to it, a plug with 4 wires and the other plug has 2 wires. take the plug with the 2 wires and reverse them, and thats it!

when i switched it around the reverse light would come on but it would still run. is that supposed to happen?

i dont remember if mine did that! plus i had the reverse light removed on mine. You did just switch the 2 single wires right?
you said it is running right? Does it seem to rev better, and give you a higher rev w/out the limiter kicking in? Its been years since i did it with my old X, but i knew mine accelerated harder with this mod.

WITH OUT SWITCHING THE WIRES IT DIDN'T RUN AND THE REVERSE LIGHT CAME ON. THEN I SWITCHED THE WIRES AND IT RAN BUT THE REVERSE LIGHT STILL LITE UP. I MAY HAVE TO SWITH IT BACK TO THE OTHER BOX AND SEE HOW HIGH IT REVS WITH BOTH. I HAVE A HAND HELD REV METER. THANKS AGAIN.

the light might be something that just happens, since the 350 dont have reverse. Like on my 300EX i bypassed the rverse rev limiter, and when you put it in reverse the nuetral light stays on!
when i put the box on my 250, i didn't have the headlight on it so i wouldn't know if the light would've been on on mine too. But i do know the box made a difference though! I got the mod idea from Curtis Sparks a long time ago!

Hey are you guys talking about the TRX250X? Will putting that CDI on my 92' give me any advantages???? How much are those cdi's approx..........

I dont think it will work on the 300EX only on the 250X's. But if someone wants to try it! Let me know if it works!
