I bought my 400ex with a curtis sparks full exhaust. My question is, would I be able to leave the head pipe on and run anouther brand of slip-on? There is only one joint in the curtis sparks, which is basicly right behind the foot rest. Would anouther brand of slip-on be the right length?

Thanks in advance,

sorry to say but no. i tried the same thing when i had my EX. the sparks header is different so no other slip-on will bolt up. id say you could make it work somehow, but definitely not going to bolt on.

Thanks for the reply.
Not what I wanted to hear but, I guess now I need to look for a new full exhaust or a stock head pipe.

have the slip ons pipe expanded at a muffler shop, cost is cheap too.im assuming the sparks exhaust pipe is bigger correct?

I dont think the pipe dia. would be the problem. I think that a slip-on wouldn't be long enough to get to the only joint in the sparks exhaust.
I even thought maybe a slip-on and a mid pipe would take up the gap, but who is to say the angles are going to line up.

yep thats the only issue is the header is about an inch and a half away from the stock muffler. you probably could try to fab up a mid pipe, that would be cool to run a quieter muffler like a HMF w/quiet core or something like that with the sparks header
